As a junior Ben Lammers came close on a number of occasions throughout the 2022 season in breaking not one, but two field events. Half way through the 23 season Ben would accomplish this incredible feat and add his name to the WCHS records books. Ben shares that he has "been trying to break the school record for a long time now and today it finally happened with my new PR of 177'8." Ben continues by saying "I still got a lot of work to do and I'm excited for the rest of the season!"

After the first day of the 2023 Track & Field District Meet, Ben has already secured himself a ticket to the 2023 State Championships at the Historic Hayward Field in Eugene with a 1st place finish in the shot put. On day two, the 19th of May, Ben hopes to add the Javelin and the Discus to his State agenda.
